Let me tell you about the beginnings of Stillnoname. Now when you hear someone say that, usually you're in for a long, boring story, and I'm not going to tell you otherwise. But it is a story, and who knows, maybe you want to read it.
Back in August of 2003, Gerard Gareau (Ender) decided that he wanted to draw a comic. But, being the lazy ass that he was (and still is), he tried to con someone else into helping him out. Now Gerard could draw and paint the comic, but unless there was someone else involved, he knew that he would never meet deadlines, and would come up with endless excuses why things didn't get done.
Gerard had known Matt for a while, and saw him online one day and asked if he would be interested in writing a comic. After weeks of harassment, Matt finally caved in, and the comic known as Maximum Randomosity was born.
During this time, Matt and Gerard each had their own websites: Matt with MAGC.NET, and Gerard with maximumrandomosity.com respectively. The first strip went up on both sites on September 1, 2003.
Fast forward a couple of months, and a couple of things happened to rock the foundations of those two sites. One, Gerard was still not meeting deadlines horribly reliably, and both sites stayed fairly dormant, since neither party found the time to update much.
Early in November of that year, the two struck a deal. The two sites would merge, so that the meagre content of either site would combine to make mediocre content on one site. And thus Stillnoname was born.

The idea for the site came after Matt had purchased the domain name. The domain name was originally purchased because in one of his university courses, an electronic portfolio was required. Instead of placing it on CD-ROMs, he chose the method of a web domain.
While that explains the why, it does nothing to explain the actual choice of a domain (http://www.magc.net/). It was suggested that if one was to go this route, it should be a domain name of some relevance to the person or information presented therein. And having his name (first/last/full) as the domain name, to him, seemed rather stupid. So, he opted to use his initials, which phonetically can be pronounced something akin to magic, or MAGC.

Gerard had some ideas kicking around in his brain for a long time, and being the lazy slacker that he was (and still is), he thought that going out and paying for hosting and a domain name would give him more incentive to actually work on the projects that he wanted to.
He stole the name of his site from a title of a strip from the comic Slackerz.org, and started adding all sorts of random content really sporadically. But people came to his site, and thought that it was good. Unfortunately, this took the challenge out of what he was doing, and so Gerard, being who he is, started slacking even more. But, with the advent of "Stillnoname", Gerard actually started doing stuff again, and all was wrong with the world.

Hi, I'm Doogie. You may know me as the music critic from MR who seems to be living in the 1970s. I'm also a U of C student majoring in Kinesiology (this week, anyway). Anyway, I went to school with Ender and Matt at DeVry, and graduated with Matt in '03. Additionally, I watch too much hockey, and play too many video games. Otherwise, I'm pretty boring.

First and foremost, thanks for visiting the site. I hope you have found something here that will keep you coming back.
Anyhow, a bit about me...from high school, I obtained a B Sc. in Electronics Engineering Technology (June 2003), and at the moment, that is the extent of my post-secondary schooling. Of interests, I have many. I enjoy a good book, electronics, music, movies, video games, computers, the outdoors...
Feel free to contact me with any questions, thoughts, comments, or concerns.

Hey. I'm Gerard, AKA Ender. I always have entirely too many projects on the go, so it might seem like I don't ever get anything done. That may be true, but I like to think that that's changing.
I'm always on the lookout for new music, so if you know of any, let me know. Actually, just drop me a line about anything. I'm always eager to hear people's opinions on, well, anything.

Welcome.
I like guitars and music a little to much. It's my passion and purpose in life so that means I am a music dork and guitar geek. Sad hey?
