A passenger with a deadly secret. Six rebels on the run. An assassin in pursuit. When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime that will destroy anything - or anyone - to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But the greatest danger of all may be on their ship.
- From The HD-DVD Case
This is a continuation of the Firefly tv series.
Gotta Love Things Going All Beta-Max.
Yeah, I was able to pick this up cheaper on HD-DVD than on standard DVD. Gotta love it. I've actually been able to pick up quite a few movies on the cheap side now that HD-DVD is dead. Some of them are going for as low as $5.
Anyhow, that has nothing to do with the movie itself. Which was good. As you may have read in my Firefly review, I ended up getting this movie and the tv series after watching only a couple of episodes. The movie itself is quite well done, and I have to say, Whedon did a good job in his first major motion picture release.
Acting, CGI, and story, along with all those other movie requirements were all well done, and should I have to complain about the movie, I would have to go with the rest of the Firefly community and say, "Why did you kill off certain characters?".
Despite years of hassle on Ender's part, I am new to the Firefly scene, but I would gladly pay to see a second Firefly movie.
If you like the series, you'll enjoy the movie. If you like movies, you'll probably enjoy it to. Check it out.
