Thomas Beckett is back in this sequel to the 1993 movie. This time around, he has been hired by the CIA to assassinate a general who has been "ethnically cleansing" Muslims in Kosovo. Oddly enough, he's teamed up with an ex-sniper who's currently on death row. Despite Beckett's missing finger and eye problems, the hit is clean. Until the escape...

Seeing Double.

The television movie sequel to 93's Sniper comes almost a decade later, and unfortunately, the age didn't help it much.

The movie's acting is on par with the first, but where this one falls flat from the first is that the story and "realism" has really been lowered in favor of blowing stuff up (particularly in the first half hour or so). This was one of the things I liked about the first. It was more about the interplay of the characters and the realism of hide'n'seek in the forest than cars blowing up when they're shot at or hit with a trolley...yes, hit with a trolley train.

So, while this movie doesn't carry the flame from the first, it's still a decent movie, especially given the fact that it's a made for tv event. You missed the in-reverse Sniper marathon on Spike the other day, but you can still check it out.
